What happens
Uncle Fletcher Rush sits on the back porch with Sade and Vic Gook, and his claim to be proud of a photograph of himself is at the heart of the afternoon. He shows them a stack of fifty identical prints of himself with his mouth open, copies made from one negative for a dentistry magazine. Sade and Vic react with amusement, and the talk turns to what the pictures cost and why anyone would want them. The Vic and Sade series, first broadcast on September 20, 1943, stars Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson.
The back porch of the small house halfway up the next block, on a summer afternoon around three o'clock.
Characters: Sade, Vic Gook, Uncle Fletcher Rush
Listen for: Uncle Fletcher's stack of fifty identical photographs of himself with his mouth open, and the family's reaction to them.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
