What happens
Vic Cook and his wife Sade argue in their living room after supper about his list of people to receive Christmas presents. Sade spots the list on scrap paper and is surprised by the number of names, including several men Vic has mentioned only briefly, such as Gus Foster and Elwily Fap from a plant in Dubuque. Vic insists these men are his friends and wants to give each of them a gift, while Sade questions the expense and the sense of such generosity. Their disagreement grows heated as they weigh the cost of twenty presents against their savings. Vic and Sade is a comedy serial, and this episode first aired on November 5, 1941, with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
