What happens

Vic and Sade is an old-time radio domestic comedy, and this episode, The Honeymoon Couple, first aired on 1946-08-08 with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the leads. Rush Cook returns from a baseball game to find his mother, Sade, in a state after she has invited a young married couple, the Albert Gibbers, to dinner. Sade knows little about them beyond a phone call and a supposed family connection through their mothers. Uncle Fletcher grows suspicious, and the household debates whether the guests are who they claim to be. Rush and Uncle Fletcher trade jokes and accusations while the family awaits the visitors' arrival and the midday meal.

The small house halfway up in the next block, in the living room and then the dining room, mid-morning into noon

Characters: Sade, Rush, Uncle Fletcher, Albert Gibber, Mrs. Gibber

Listen for: Uncle Fletcher's suspicions about the visitors and the family's mounting confusion over the names and mothers

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
