What happens
Vic and Sade sees the Gook household settle into an ordinary evening while guests are expected. Vic Gooko has the newspaper and waits for Ted and Ruthie, who are running late. Sade is irritated by Vic and Russell's habit of calling Fred Stembottom "Ted," and she insists the name is Fred. Uncle Fletcher drops in on his way downtown, where he is filling in as a ticket taker at the Bijou, and he is told to stop using the wrong name. A phone call from Ted about cards and ice cream closes the portion of the episode covered here. The series is a daytime radio serial, first aired in 1944 on NBC, with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the leading roles.
The Gook household living room in a small house in the middle of the block, on an evening
Characters: Vic Gooko, Sade Gooko, Uncle Fletcher, Russell Honey, Fred Stembottom, Ruthie, Blue Tooth Johnson
Listen for: Sade's insistence that Ted is really Fred, and Uncle Fletcher's reaction to being corrected
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
