What happens

Vic and Sade are playing rummy at home when Uncle Fletcher drops by unexpectedly, bringing two friends, Roy Dejectedly and Pelter Unbleed, who have been waiting outside. Earlier, young Russell reported seeing three men lurking by the garbage box in the alley, and the family has been wondering who they were. Uncle Fletcher explains that he wanted to be sure the family had no plans before bringing his friends in. Russell is sent to fetch the two men, who turn out to share a past in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where they both spent the summer of 1909. The family settles in to hear their reminiscences. The Vic and Sade radio serial was broadcast in the 1940s, and this 1944 episode was written by Paul Wright and features Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
