What happens

Vic and Sade is an episode from 1944, first broadcast on July 17. Sade sits on the front porch with her son Russell, while her husband Gob returns home and announces that he has received a letter from Hunky J. Spunger in Chicago. The letter proposes that the All-Star Marching Team go on summer maneuvers during August. Gob is delighted by the idea, but Sade and Russell raise a series of practical objections, including the number of cots and the team members who might not come along. The episode works through these difficulties in a light, bickering way.

Characters: Sade, Russell, Gob, Hunky J. Spunger

Listen for: Gob's excitement over the summer maneuvers proposal and Sade's string of objections to it.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
