What happens

Rush Gook sits alone in the kitchen of his house, wearing his hat and fretting over a telephone call. His friend Smelly Clark, who is training as a barber, has given him a badly botched haircut, and Rush hopes to fix the damage before his mother arrives home. Rush recounts how Smelly talked him into the cut, including a fashionable style called the Feather Flow Chic Dip, and tries to recruit help from neighbors and from Mildred. The series Vic and Sade, originally broadcast on 1942-11-20, features lead actors Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson.

The kitchen of a small house halfway up the next block, late afternoon, in the town of Tawana.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
