What happens
On a rainy early afternoon, Mrs. Vic Goode hosts her Thimble Club ladies in the living room while her son Rush tries to study in the kitchen. Rush comes in wet and hopes for quiet, but a steady stream of visitors arrives, including Uncle Fletcher, who has ridden home soaked on a garbage wagon, and Mr. Spaw, who boasts about the whistle he bought at a ten-cent store. Vic and Sade is a daytime radio serial, and this episode first aired on December 6, 1945, with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the leading roles.

Listen for: Uncle Fletcher's account of riding home soaked in the garbage wagon, and Mr. Spaw's whistle
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
