What happens

Vic and Sade follows the Goode family in their small house. Mrs. Goode and her son Rush hear a rumor that Miss Harris, a lonesome widow across the alley, is to marry Dwight, a widower with married daughters. Uncle Fletcher is delighted to be proven right about the romance, while Rush and his mother find the match sensible but puzzle over Dwight's eccentric habits. Dwight arrives with Miss Harris to announce the engagement in person, and the household reacts to the news as their neighbors. The episode is part of the long-running Vic and Sade series, first broadcast on December 5, 1945, and features Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
