What happens
Victor and Sade Goad sit in their living room one evening with their son Willie. Sade is angry that Willie keeps quarreling with the boy next door, Nicer Scott. Willie insists the fights are Nicer's fault, and he describes how Nicer provoked him on the back porch steps that evening with boasts about Cuban and Eskimo blood, his hair count, and tall tales. The episode is part of the Vic and Sade series, with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the lead roles. It first aired on May 29, 1940.
The Goad family's living room in a small house halfway up the block, one evening around seven thirty.
Characters: Vic Goad, Sade Goad, Willie Goad, Nicer Scott
Listen for: Willie's account of Nicer Scott's boasts on the back porch steps, and Sade's exasperated lecture about the quarreling.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
