What happens

Vic and Sade is a daytime radio serial about a plain, friendly household, and this episode centers on Vic and Sade in their living room one early evening. Mr. Chinbunny, a young high school principal worried about his age, has asked Vic to teach him to smoke cigars before a meeting of principals in Chicago. Vic jokes about the request while Sade reads a melodramatic novel. Vic describes how Chinbunny plans to act in the hotel lobby, and the couple expect a phone call from him that evening. The original air date is 1940-06-02, and the lead actors are Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson.

The living room of the small house halfway up the next block, early evening.

Characters: Vic, Sade, Mr. Chinbunny, Ruthie, Fred

Listen for: Vic describing how Mr. Chinbunny plans to look like a seasoned cigar smoker in Chicago, and the telephone call from Chinbunny.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
