What happens

Vic is trying to write a short biography of Hank Gutstop for the lodge magazine, and Sade looks on from the Davenport. The lodge wants only a brief, pithy paragraph about its exalted little dipper, and Vic struggles to find anything outstanding to say about Hank. He reads sample biographies sent by headquarters and tries several drafts, none of which satisfy him. Eventually he settles on a one-sentence version, and the couple debate whether its simplicity works. Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson are the lead actors of this Vic and Sade episode, first broadcast on June 13, 1940.

Characters: Vic, Sade, Rush, Hank Gutstop, Ed

Listen for: Vic's repeated attempts to write Hank's biography, and his final one-sentence version, 'Hank, Gutstop is healthy.'

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
