What happens

Vic Gulk is at the library table in the living room, working on a stack of invoices he brought home from the office, and he has little patience for his son Russell, who sits on the davenport wanting company. Vic insists he needs quiet and concentration to finish the work in time for the mail. Russell keeps drifting to the window and reporting a rabbit his uncle has bought, which Heinie is advertising with signs on the front lawn. Vic grows irritated by the noise and by the interruptions, including a telephone call from a woman asking for Sade, who is out shopping downtown. Vic keeps losing count of his figures while trying to add up the invoices, and the household's small disturbances keep building around his work.

The living room of the small house halfway up the next block, in the middle of the afternoon.

Characters: Vic Gulk, Russell, Sade, Heinie

Listen for: Vic repeatedly losing his place while adding up the invoices, and the escalating interruptions from Russell, the rabbit signs, and the telephone calls.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
