What happens
Vic Gook and his wife Sade are at home in the evening when Vic opens a catalog offering honorary titles for a small fee. Vic is tempted by the idea of putting an impressive title on his business card, and the two talk about the titles and their possible uses. Meanwhile, Ruthie calls to say that Fred is on his way over with ice cream, and the flavor is changed back and forth several times. The Vic and Sade series is an NBC program first aired on January 4, 1943, with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the lead roles.
The small house halfway up the block, in the living room, early evening.
Characters: Vic Gook, Sade Gook, Ruthie, Fred
Listen for: Vic reading the catalog of honorary titles, and the back-and-forth over whether the ice cream will be chocolate, caramel, or strawberry.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
