What happens

Vic Gook is upset after a phone call with Fred Stembottom, who said he might let himself be talked into joining the Sacred Order of the Milky Way lodge. Vic and his uncle Fletcher discuss how the lodge admits members, including long waiting periods and repeated rejections, and Vic frets that his friendship with Fred and Rosie may suffer. Uncle Fletcher, who has his own opinions, joins in the conversation. Vic and Sade is an old-time radio domestic comedy, and this installment was first broadcast on January 7, 1943, with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
