What happens

Sade and Uncle Fletcher are in the kitchen of the Victor Cook house on a cold winter morning while Sade peels apples. Dottie Ivory, a visiting friend, has gone upstairs alone to read a letter from her husband, Chuck. Uncle Fletcher is distracted and wanders into long tangents, including a tale about a strange man named Collarbone Gackwench, while Sade and Uncle Fletcher start to bicker over Dottie's long stay. The series Vic and Sade, first broadcast on February 15, 1943, is heard here with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
