What happens
Vic Gook comes home at noon to find his wife Sade and their son Russell in the kitchen, and he is upset. He has learned that the garbage man, Gumpox, is wearing the official Lodge regalia of the Sacred Stars of the Milky Way, which is against the rules for a non-member. Vic sends Russell to watch for Gumpox and Sade reluctantly takes a shovel and cold chisel from the cellar, while Vic recalls earlier incidents when he became similarly worked up over the Lodge robes. The Vic and Sade series, a daytime radio serial, first aired on 1943-07-12 with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the leading roles.
The Gook family's small house in the middle of the block, in the kitchen around noon on a warm day.
Characters: Vic Gook, Sade Gook, Russell Miller, Gumpox
Listen for: Vic's growing agitation about the garbage man's Lodge regalia, and Sade's wry responses as she tries to calm him.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
