What happens
Vic Gook comes home from the office to finish a set of August invoices, with a two-hour deadline and his secretary told to hold all calls. His son Rush is stuck home from school and is pressed into service reading figures aloud to speed the work. Vic's wife Sade is out, but a steady stream of neighbors and callers keep cutting through the living room, since the street outside is blocked off. Rush's own distractions and a series of unrelated visitors repeatedly derail the task. The episode is a comedy of interruptions as Vic tries to concentrate on the invoices in the Vic and Sade series, first broadcast on October 26, 1946, with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the lead roles.
The small house halfway up the next block, on Virginia Avenue, in the middle of the morning.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
