What happens
Uncle Fletcher arrives at the household of Vic and Sade and announces that he will spend the night because the family needs a man in the house while Vic's husband Rush is away. Sade and Rush receive him over pie in the kitchen, and Fletcher explains that his reasoning comes from a boarding house gossip about a lodger's wife and her little boy. He is also nervous about the thunderstorms forecast for the night, and he tells a rambling story about a man named Ernie Seamer and his fear of thunder. The family talks about the late hour, the locking up of the house and the family's bedtime routine. The conversation turns repeatedly to odd family tales and tangents.
The kitchen and front porch of a small house halfway up the block, on an evening in late summer as a thunderstorm approaches.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
