What happens

Vic and Sade follow Hank Gutstop, a loafer who takes a job as hostess at a small tea shop run by Mrs. Gratt on the corner of Monroe and Madison. Hank is paid only in meals and is expected to greet customers, seat them, and bring in business for the restaurant. Vic and Sade discuss going there for supper, and Sade is uneasy about being served by a man she knows well. The episode is a light domestic comedy in the series' small-town style, featuring Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the lead roles, and it was originally broadcast on February 17, 1942.

A small city restaurant, the Little Tiny Petite tea shop, on the corner of Monroe and Madison Street, and the Stoopnagle household.

Characters: Vic, Sade, Hank Gutstop, Mrs. Gratt

Listen for: Hank's first day as hostess at the tea shop and the family's plan to eat there.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
