A rundown farm and the office of Sheriff Nielsen in Texas, with the investigation leading to Born's Lake.

Characters: Ranger Jason Pearson, Sheriff Nielsen, Mrs. Ethel Hadley, Roscoe Crider, Sam White, Ruthie

Listen for: The tense family conflict over money and Sam White's influence on the elderly Roscoe, followed by the discovery of abandoned items at the lake that suggest foul play or suicide.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
