What happens
A family from Iowa—John, Ethel, and their twelve-year-old son Robert—arrives in Texas to start a new life on a farm. Late that night, they pick up a stranded motorist on a deserted highway, but the man pulls a gun, robs them, and shoots all three before taking their car and fleeing. The next morning, the parents are found dead, but Robert survives and is rushed to the hospital, where Texas Ranger Jason Pearson arrives to investigate the brutal crime.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
