What happens

Brit Ponson arrives in the struggling town of Virtue City hoping to sign on with a railroad crew, only to learn that the railroad won't come through unless the company secures rights-of-way from all property owners. The widow Annie Huxley, a former acquaintance who guards her silver mine with a shotgun, refuses to cooperate with the railroad's demands, and Brit finds himself pressed into trying to negotiate with her.

Virtue City, a declining town in the Western territories, centered on the old Opera House which now serves as the railroad office

Characters: Brit Ponson, Doc, Nelson, Annie Huxley, Clyde Huxley

Listen for: The tension between Brit's attempt to help the town and his reluctance to get involved with the stubborn and dangerous Annie Huxley; the townspeople's desperate need for the railroad to survive.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
