What happens
The Sick Shooter rides into Quiet City and reconnects with Sheriff Poggibyre, finding the town transformed from a small frontier settlement into a growing community with schools, churches, and a railroad. The sheriff's son Buzz, now educated and ambitious, has decided to leave town to study law back east rather than follow his father's path, creating tension between the old lawman and the new generation who believe the frontier days are finished.
Quiet City in the Western Territories, primarily the sheriff's office on the main street
Characters: Britt Ponsett (the Sick Shooter), Sheriff Poggibyre, Buzz Poggibyre
Listen for: The conflict between frontier justice and modern civilization, as an aging sheriff struggles with his son's rejection of the lawman's life in favor of becoming a lawyer.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
