What happens
On the Red Horse Ranch, Alabam leads several of the boys from the outfit into the mountains along Roaring River in search of the spot where slain outlaw chief Trigger Dawson buried his loot. Their trail has brought them to a mountain stream, where they make camp for the night. Around the fire, the men settle in, swap talk about the lonesome country, and sing songs as they rest up for the work ahead. Idaho notices a distant campfire across the river, and the men wonder whether someone else is heading for the same place. Dewey, who has lived in these hills most of his life, reflects on his feelings about Dawson. The night ends with the men preparing for a hard day tomorrow.
A rugged mountain trail along Roaring River on the Red Horse Ranch, where the boys have camped for the night by a mountain stream.
Characters: Alabam, Idaho, Tex, Tenderfoot, Arizona, Red, Dewey, Bob
Listen for: Idaho's remark about a distant campfire across the river, and the boys' conversation about whether someone else is following the same trail.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
