What happens

Philip Marlowe is hired to find Amy Harper, a young woman who disappeared Monday morning while supposedly taking laundry to a local laundromat in the San Fernando Valley. Her mild-mannered husband Enos reports she left home around nine o'clock and never returned, and the laundromat attendant confirms she did drop off laundry that day. Marlowe begins investigating her disappearance by checking hospitals, calling relatives, and visiting transportation offices around the area.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
