What happens

Phil Harris learns that his film Wabash Avenue has been heavily cut, and he phones studio head Darryl Zanuck to find out how he did. Zanuck's replies tease him, and Phil recounts the producer's harsh review of his performance. Phil's friend Frankie Remley then arrives, and the two plan to make their own movie, with Frankie writing the story and Phil starring. The broadcast is from The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show, which aired on NBC on February 26, 1950, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye starring alongside Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
