What happens
Phil Harris leads a band whose bandleader, Mr. Scott of Rexall, is frustrated with the musicians' poor skills. Mr. Scott then confides that his seventeen-year-old daughter, Marjorie, has fallen in love with an older man whom he believes is a fortune hunter after her money. Harris and Alice Faye take it upon themselves to help him, and their schemes to turn Marjorie against the suitor begin to take shape. The episode is part of The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show, broadcast on NBC on March 5, 1950, and starring Phil Harris and Alice Faye, with Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon also in the cast.
A band rehearsal and then the Scott household, where Mr. Scott's daughter Marjorie lives.
Characters: Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Mr. Scott, Marjorie, Remley, Curly, Julius, Clyde Crayle
Listen for: Harris and Alice Faye's plans to win Marjorie away from her older suitor, and Julius's attempt to win her over.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
