What happens

Phil Harris wakes with a pain in his side and goes with Elliot Lewis to the Encino steam baths hoping heat will help. The pain returns and worsens, and Alice Faye grows worried, urging him to see a doctor while Phil insists he is fine. Phil's comical bragging about his past surgery, his household's ridiculous antics, and a visit from his father add to his growing unease. The story follows Phil's fears about the pain and his stubborn refusal to take it seriously. The Phil Harris series aired on NBC, and this episode first broadcast on April 9, 1954, with Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
