What happens

Phil Harris, newly famous from his television debut, has grown so conceited that his wife Alice and the household staff, including Willie and Julius, can barely stand him. At home he preens, poses before every mirror and makes sweeping announcements about his importance. His friends Curly and Elliott tease him about his appearance, while Phil insists his new TV image is the real thing. Meanwhile, Phil's household decides to teach him a lesson, and two unexpected visitors arrive at the house. The Phil Harris series aired on NBC; this episode first aired on October 19, 1952, starring Phil Harris and Alice Faye.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
