What happens

Phil Harris and Alice Faye and their household decorate their home for Christmas, but the town's community tree is missing from city hall. Phil and Alice go to confront Mayor Baldwin, who has no tree up and seems to have forgotten to arrange one. Neighbor Frankie Remley and the family's friend Willie join the errand. The mayor reluctantly agrees to a tree if they can find one, so Phil, Alice and Remley set off for the San Bernardino Mountains in a delivery truck driven by Julius. A snowstorm strikes, and the group finds themselves in trouble, with Remley's electrically heated underwear and frozen legs adding to the mishaps. The Phil Harris and Alice Faye show aired on NBC on December 18, 1949, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye starring.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
