What happens
Phil and Alice Harris try to make Christmas special for their two daughters, Phyllis and Alice. Phil and Alice cannot find anyone to play Santa Claus, so they first ask Don Wilson, who cannot come, and then hire a man to take the part. Their friends Frankie and Curly drop in with gifts, and the children await Santa's arrival throughout the evening. This is the annual Christmas show of The Phil Harris and Alice Faye series, which aired on NBC on December 25, 1949, starring Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Elliott Lewis and Gale Gordon.

Listen for: Listen for the children's wait for Santa Claus and the arrival of the man hired to play him.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
