What happens

On a Saturday morning, Phil Harris and Alice Faye's children Phyllis and Alice prepare for an overnight camping trip with their Brownie troop. Uncle William is set to lead the troop, but he twists his ankle, so Phil reluctantly agrees to take his place. Phil must put on khaki shorts and a campaign hat, and his friends Curly and Remley are roped into joining the outing. Trouble follows at every turn as the group sets off, with the children lively and Phil bluffing his way through the trip. Alice grows anxious about the outing and the group's direction.

Hollywood, a suburban home and a Brownie camping trip, including a rainy night in Sherman Woods

Characters: Phil Harris, Alice Faye, Phyllis, Alice, Uncle William, Curly, Remley, Frankie

Listen for: Phil's bluster as a reluctant troop leader, and the Brownies' rowdy marching and camp-out chatter

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
