What happens

Phil Harris insists he is dying of a mysterious ailment, much to the exasperation of his wife Alice Faye, who suspects he is exaggerating. Alice's brother Willie and the neighbour Frankie Remley try to deal with his fussing, and Frankie's friend Curly, Phil's hypochondriac habit in full flower, pesters everyone. Hoping to keep the household running, the family begins searching for a stand-in for Phil's radio program the next day. The Phil Harris Alice Faye Show is an NBC comedy series, and this episode first aired on October 29, 1950, with Phil Harris and Alice Faye in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
