What happens
Miss Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School, accepts a weekend invitation from Mrs. Conklin to visit the Conklins' summer cottage at Crystal Lake, bringing along biology teacher Mr. Boynton. Mrs. Conklin hopes the trip will push Mr. Boynton toward marriage, while Miss Brooks is quietly hoping to be considered for head of the English department. The weekend becomes crowded with mishaps, awkward meetings and a growing tangle of misunderstandings among the guests and their hosts. This is an episode of the radio comedy Our Miss Brooks, first broadcast on CBS Radio on August 21, 1949, with Eve Arden in the title role and Gale Gordon as Mr. Conklin.
