What happens
Miss Brooks, a high school English teacher, spends her late summer planning a picnic with Mr. Boynton, Walter Denton and Harriet Conklin. Her plans collapse when Principal Conklin announces that school opens a day early because State Board chairman Wallace T. Hewitt is coming to visit. Walter, hoping to stop Conklin from spoiling the picnic, has made a prank phone call posing as Hewitt, and Miss Brooks scrambles to hide the scheme. Her improvised solution draws in a stranger from the park, a student and the janitor. This is Our Miss Brooks, a CBS Radio comedy series, first broadcast on 1949-09-11 and starring Eve Arden.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
