What happens
Miss Connie Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School, hopes to impress Mr. Philip Boynton, a shy biology teacher, at the faculty dance. She asks her student Walter Denton to drive her to Antoine's beauty parlor for a new look. Along the way Walter reports on Mr. Boynton's movie outing with Miss Enright, another teacher who has her eye on him. At the salon, Antoine chats with Brooks about the rival, and Miss Enright arrives for her own appointment. Brooks leaves with a dramatic new hairstyle, and her landlady and others react to her altered appearance. The series is Our Miss Brooks, heard on CBS Radio, and this episode was originally broadcast on March 6, 1949, with Eve Arden as Miss Brooks.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
