What happens
Miss Brooks, a high school English teacher, is having breakfast with her landlady Mrs. Davis when a telegram arrives for her. Mrs. Davis refuses to open it, fearing bad news about her elderly uncle Corky, who lives in Springdale. The telegram requires an immediate reply, and the messenger Herbie Terwilliger waits on the porch. Miss Brooks tries to get someone to open it, asking Walter Denton, Harriet Conklin and her father Mr. Conklin, who each decline out of superstition. The telegram becomes the center of a growing household dispute as more people are drawn in. Our Miss Brooks was broadcast on CBS Radio on July 10, 1949, starring Eve Arden, with Gale Gordon, Jeff Chandler and Richard Crenna in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
