What happens

Miss Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High Summer School, is worn down by principal Osgoode Conklin's Carelessness Code, a list of petty offenses that fines staff and students for each lapse. Money is tight, and her own pocketbook keeps getting emptied into the fund for a statue of Conklin himself. Walter Denton and the students ask her to challenge Conklin, and she tries to bargain with him over the fines. Conklin's plans for the statue and the library grow increasingly unusual. Our Miss Brooks was broadcast on CBS Radio on July 17, 1949, with Eve Arden in the title role, with Gale Gordon as Conklin, Jeff Chandler and Richard Crenna also appearing.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
