What happens

Miss Brooks, the English teacher at Madison High School, is made faculty advisor to the cheerleading squad and is pulled into a lunchtime meeting about the upcoming football game against City High. Principal Conklin wants a live mascot to rival Jason Brill's bear cub, and the group tosses out one unlikely idea after another. The episode is from the Our Miss Brooks series, originally aired on CBS Radio on November 13, 1949, and stars Eve Arden, Gale Gordon, Jeff Chandler and Richard Crenna. Miss Brooks, Mr. Boynton, Walter Denton and Stretch Snodgrass all have a part in the search for a suitable animal for the team.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
