What happens
Connie Brooks, a high school English teacher, plans a Halloween party at her boarding house with students Walter Denton, Harriet Conklin and Stretch Snodgrass. Walter asks her to host, and Connie agrees to hold the party at Harriet's home to cheer up Harriet's father, principal Osgood Conklin, who has been irritable all week. Conklin's nerves are already frayed by a broken pair of glasses, a restless dog and his doctor's warnings. Connie and the students try to arrange a surprise for him while Mr. Boynton, the chemistry teacher, drops in. This Our Miss Brooks episode from 1949 was broadcast on CBS Radio on October 30, 1949, starring Eve Arden.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
