What happens

Miss Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School, prepares a welcome-home gift for biology teacher Philip Boynton, who returns from a three-week convention. Walter Denton and Harriet Conklin also bring presents, and Miss Enright, a rival for Mr. Boynton's affections, is planning one too. Each of them picks out a gift in a rush, and the presents keep getting swapped, mislaid and misunderstood as the morning goes on. This episode of Our Miss Brooks, from the OTRR singles collection, first aired on CBS Radio on October 23, 1949, with Eve Arden in the lead. The story is told in the comedy's usual light, bustling style, with the gift mix-ups building through the workday.

Madison High School and the surrounding town, during a single school week when Mr. Boynton returns from a convention.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
