What happens

Connie Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School, is waiting for Philip Boynton to return from a biologist's convention upstate. Meanwhile, Mr. LeBlanc, the French teacher, has been attentive to her and asks her to meet him at school. Her friend Walter Denton and landlady Mrs. Davis offer opinions on her romantic prospects. LeBlanc hands Connie a note written in French, which she cannot read well, so she turns to Walter and Harriet Conklin for a translation. The note asks her for a loan of fifty dollars, complicating matters with Principal Conklin's used car. This Our Miss Brooks episode, from October 9, 1949, on CBS Radio, stars Eve Arden.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
