What happens
Connie Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School, learns that her date with Mr. Boynton, the biology teacher, has been cancelled again, this time because he must escort Miss Enright to her birthday party. Connie is disappointed, and her classmate Walter Denton, who writes a gossip column, overhears her complaints and offers a scheme to keep Mr. Boynton from the party. The episode is part of the Our Miss Brooks series, with Eve Arden in the lead and Gale Gordon as the principal, Mr. Conklin. The broadcast carries no air date in this transcript, so it is not stated here.
Madison High School and Connie's apartment in town, on a Friday in March.

Listen for: Walter Denton's scheme to keep Mr. Boynton from the birthday party, and Connie's reaction to it.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
