What happens
Connie Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High, wants to go to the cereal bowl football game at Clay City and the dance afterward. Her principal, Mr. Conklin, must choose a chaperone for the trip, and she competes with Miss Enright, who has been trying to win his favor with gifts. Brooks hopes the chaperone job will also let her spend time with Mr. Boynton, the science teacher. Walter Denton, the team manager, helps her navigate the rivalry while Conklin sends increasingly elaborate memos about the trip. The series is Our Miss Brooks, first broadcast on CBS Radio on December 11, 1949, starring Eve Arden, Gale Gordon, Jeff Chandler and Richard Crenna.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
