What happens
Miss Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High, and her colleagues learn that Cosmopolitan magazine plans a feature on their school, and the news sends everyone into a flurry of vanity. Principal Osgoode Conklin, a rival teacher Miss Enright, and fellow teacher Walter Denham each become preoccupied with the photographer, Mr. Haney, and whether they will appear in the piece. Conklin forbids unauthorized photographs under a school rule, which leaves the staff anxious about their jobs.
