What happens
Special Prosecutor Leonard Winston is murdered at midnight in his apartment. Rocky Crane, a racketeer whose brother was executed by Winston a year earlier, becomes the prime suspect. However, Rocky produces a traffic ticket from Lake Hillman, 150 miles away, issued at the exact time of the murder, apparently giving him a perfect alibi. Nick Carter agrees to help Sergeant Malas investigate the case and uncover the truth behind this seemingly ironclad defense.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
