What happens

When contractor Wally White discovers that blueprints for a building project reference a street corner that doesn't exist in Greenwich Village, he suspects fraud. Along with his sister Jean, Wally seeks help from detective Nick Carter, who uncovers an elaborate scheme: the Cosmopolis Company is sending fake construction blueprints to contractors across the country, collecting deposits they never intend to return. Carter traces the operation to a mail drop and prepares to catch the criminals behind it.

New York City, primarily Greenwich Village and an office building serving as a mail drop for the fraudulent Cosmopolis Company

Listen for: The clever deduction about the non-existent street intersection, the revelation of the construction bid scam, and Nick Carter's plan to record conversations using a hidden ventilator and wire recorder.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
