What happens
Tony Barkley, a charming but unscrupulous criminal, tricks the timid and homely Agnes Perry into eloping with him so he can extort money from her wealthy father. Nick Carter uses radio broadcasts to warn officials not to perform the marriage, but the ceremony takes place anyway. When Agnes discovers Tony's true motives and his cruel nature, she flees the cabin during the night and returns home, locking herself away and refusing to speak to anyone.
A city and surrounding upstate towns; includes the Perry home, a radio station, and a remote cabin used as a honeymoon cottage.
Characters: Nick Carter, Agnes Perry, Tony Barkley, Mr. Perry, Linda Forsyth, Patsy
Listen for: The clever use of radio broadcasts to spread a warning, the confrontation between Tony and Agnes when his scheme is revealed, and the mystery of what happened in the cabin that night.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
