What happens
When wealthy industrialist Miles Kincade is found dead in a lake with a flowery suicide note in his car, his friends the Holts ask Nick Carter to investigate their suspicions that he was murdered. Nick discovers evidence of a break-in at Kincade's home and learns from the autopsy that the victim's lungs contained chlorinated water—not lake water—suggesting foul play.
A city including Kincade's home, Nick's office, and the offices of various professionals.
Characters: Nick Carter, Patsy, Mrs. Douglas Holt, Douglas Holt, Miles Kincade, Harry Otis, Sergeant Malthuson, Melvin Dudley
Listen for: The autopsy reveals chlorine in Kincade's lungs, proving the lake water couldn't be the source of his death and confirming murder rather than suicide.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
